How the jackpot networks are built

A progressive jackpot is not a property of one game — it is a network that many games feed. A slice of every qualifying bet across every casino running that network goes into a shared pot, which is why the totals get so large and why a player at one operator can win money staked at another. Jackpot Madness follows the same logic with a twist: it runs four prize tiers across six pots, where the Madness tier grows until it is triggered and the Mystery tier is three smaller fixed prizes designed to pay much more frequently. The trade in every tiered design is the same — the more often a tier pays, the less it pays.

Mega Moolah, and the record that built the category

Mega Moolah launched in 2006 and is the reason the phrase «progressive jackpot» means anything to a Canadian audience. In October 2015 a player at Betway won €17,879,645 — £13,209,300 — on it, a payout certified by Guinness World Records at the time as the largest ever from an online slot machine game. That single result is why the whole entry-offer category still points at this jackpot family twenty years later — though not always at Mega Moolah itself: Canadian reviews describe Zodiac’s 80 chances running on Mega Money Wheel, and the $5 JackpotCity spins on Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah. What the record does not tell you is anything about your own spin. A progressive jackpot is awarded on a randomly triggered event, and its expected contribution is already inside the game’s published RTP. The size of the pot changes what you win if you win; it does not change how often that happens.

Published RTPs on the titles you will actually meet

Read those as what they are. An RTP is a long-run average across millions of spins, calculated by the studio and verified by a testing lab. It says nothing about a session, an evening or a month. The complementary figure — the three to four per cent that does not come back — is the house margin, and it is the entire commercial basis of the industry. A high RTP means a game is a comparatively slow way to lose money, not a way to make it.

One caveat worth knowing: some games ship in more than one RTP configuration, and the operator chooses which to run. The number in a review is the studio’s headline version; the number that applies to you is the one in the game’s own information panel, which every licensed lobby is required to show.

Who actually builds these games now

Since the 2022 sale, the name on the tile is often a studio rather than the distributor. Games Global’s network includes Fortune Factory Studios, Just For The Win, Foxium, All For One Studios, Triple Edge Studios and Area Vegas, and it keeps adding — Deep Stake, OI Studios and Posh Monkey Studios are recent additions to the exclusive network. Big Time Gaming, the studio behind the Megaways mechanic and Bonanza, is distributed through the same channel.

That structure explains a lot of the inconsistency you see in lobbies. The same game can be labelled Microgaming, Games Global or the individual studio depending on how the operator built its game menu, and all three labels can be correct at once. If you are trying to find this catalogue in an unfamiliar lobby, searching for the studio names above generally works better than searching for «Microgaming».

The published roadmap for July and August 2026 named Western Gold 3 from Just For The Win, which adds the studio’s Epic Strike mechanic to an existing franchise; Blazing Bison UNLEASHED from Fortune Factory Studios, the fifth entry in its prairie series; Area Link Bank Baron from Area Vegas, extending both the Area Link mechanic and the Bank series; and Candy Express Gold Blitz, also from Fortune Factory, in the Gold Blitz line that began in December 2022.

Those titles are listed here as text rather than as tiles because no open source carries their artwork, and a placeholder image beside a real game name would misrepresent both. The same restraint applies to 12 Masks of Fire: Night Fever and Deco Diamonds, both of which appear in Casino Rewards’ own winners feed for July 2026 — real, current, and without art we can honestly show.

Finding this catalogue in a Canadian lobby
